Step through the doors of the Ballarat Town Hall for a guided tour with one of their knowledgeable Hall Keepers.

A fascinating hour awaits with stories of the history of Ballarat and the Town Hall's part in it. Explore areas of the Town Hall normally not accessible to the public. This tour will inform and delight both visitors to, and residents of, this historic city.

Tours depart from the Visitor Information Centre at 2 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, excluding public holidays.

Ballarat Town Hall Tours

Ballarat Town Hall is opening its doors to guided tours. Visitors to the city will now have an opportunity to hear about the secrets and stories of the Ballarat Town Hall during a special guided tour. The new weekly guided tours will take visitors on a journey back in time through one of Ballarat oldest buildings. The Town Hall's Council Chambers, Mayor's Room, Trench Room and A Hall will be among the numerous rooms open during the tours. The tours are also open to Ballarat residents and will provide participants with a chance to experience what it was like during the late 1860s with many of the building's magnificent features retained complete with original furniture.

Was here in early April. Made a stop in Ballarat to look around the place after spending 2 nights in the Grampians. Last came to Ballarat 40 years ago to visit Sovereign Hill. The town hall building is impressive. The staff at the visitor centre were friendly and engaging. Along Sturt street nearby are also some places of interest - Cenotaph, George V statue.
