Cowwarr Weir is a popular spot for recreation and non-powered water activities and is an ideal place for a day trip with the whole family.
Cowwarr Weir is a spectacular spot that is well-patronised for swimming, kayaking, fishing and picnicking, with lots of shady spots by the water. There are pleasant walks around the reserve and it is popular with bird-watchers. There are picnic tables and toilets but please note there are no barbeque facilities.
No powered boats are allowed on the weir.
Truly spectacular hidden Gem near Traralgon. Lots of benches and a beautiful landscape for kayaking and relaxation near water.
Beautiful spot for a BBQ and swim with the family. Well worth bringing the kayaks and paddling up the river.
Great family place. Excellent when it’s not busy if the weather’s been warm, the water is warm even on a cool day great place for a barbecue or a baptism
Nice little place to relax and swim on a hot day.
Perfect quiet spot for swimming, wading, non-powered boating etc. The water is clean & fresh, easily accessible and shallow at the edges perfect for young kids. There are large, shady trees throughout and soft grass. My favourite swimming spot, and kayaking up river is fun too. Be sure to check the Thomson Dam release info first. Toilets and picnic tables are available, and there is ample parking. Even on busy days it doesn't feel crowded, and has the atmosphere of a big pool party.
