The Delatite Arm Reserve, on the shores of Lake Eildon beside bushland, pine plantation and revegetated forest, is a three hour drive north east of Melbourne.
The reserve is popular for camping, water sports, scenic views and fishing. The extensive forests to the south and east also provide great opportunities for four wheel drive and trail bike exploration.
There are 28 separate campgrounds spread across the foreshore of the Delatite Arm Reserve, some of which are suitable for small caravans. Most camping areas have fireplaces and picnic tables, and some have wood-fired barbeques. However, you will need to bring your own wood and check fire bans before use. There is no water supply to the sites, so bring your own or be prepared to boil water from the lake before using.
There are no camping fees to use the campsites, but you cannot book or reserve your site. Sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. In peak periods, camping sites may be unavailable, so have contingency plans in place for these busy times.
Toilets are provided at campsites for your convenience. Dogs are allowed within the reserve but must be under control at all times and are expected to be leashed or restrained.
Stayed at the camp just north of Ewarts. Broken glass, so much rubbish. Collective a large bin bag of toilet roll from opposite camp. Human waste here. Left camp with half a bag of rubbish. Come on people!
Very familiar with the area and there are so many better campsites than this one. Ranger agrees, it just doesn't work, doesn't make sense how it's been set up. Nothing is convenient about it. Recommend either Taylors or the little gem Cullitons.
1 hell of a spot if u love camping this is one place u wanna try close to the water. dunny is bloody brilliant clean and doesn't smell.
It's no camp ground, it's a dry place with no water next to a dried up lake. Would not advise anyone to waste their time to go there.
Great little spot easy access for a swim and drop toilets at site
