For a bird's eye view of the iconic Lake Eildon, be sure to visit Foggs Lookout, also known as Mt Pinninger Lookout, which offers a stunning vantage point to the pristine, vast clear waters below.
Pack a picnic and bring your camera to capture the action on Lake Eildon with boating, jet skis, kayaks and water sports carving up the water.
There are several seats and picnic tables for you to sit back and enjoy a bite to eat whist appreciating the stunning views of the area.
To get to this lookout, visitors will need to turn off the Goulburn Valley Highway from the Eildon township onto Jerusalem Creek Road for 6.3 kilometres, veering left at the junction with Embankment Road. Turn left onto Mt Pinninger Road (Foggs Lookout will be signposted at the junction here). Follow the unsealed road for approximately 2.6 kilometres to the lookout, continuing past the powerlines. You'll notice this is a one way loop that continues around past the lookout and back the way you came.
Beautiful view at this lookout. The dirt-road getting there isn't the best for your tyres as it's really rocky and uneven, but once you make it to the viewpoint simply park somewhere to the side and feast your eyes upon a very serene lake. There are some benches and a picnic table at the hill. Just watch out for the magpies and the giant ants!

Stunning view of Lake Eildon, worth the winding drive up. There is a relatively short section of dirt road near the end, which was not particularly rugged, but is quite dusty and rocky. Spectacular view.

Definitely worth the drive up! Great views and there is a rock that’s perfect to sit on and pose for photos in front of the lake!

Beautiful view from the top. Must visit while in Eildon on an evening. There are picnic areas too.

Foggs Lookout offers spectacular panoramic views of Lake Eildon and its massive dam wall, making it a must-visit for photographers and sightseers. While the gravel road access and steep, sometimes eroded walking path require a bit of care, the reward is a breathtaking perspective of the Victorian High Country. It is an ideal spot for a quick picnic or to watch the sunset, though visitors should note there are no on-site facilities like toilets or bins.
