The expansive 23-acre estate provides everything from relaxing vacations, fishing from the private pontoon, action holidays and romantic riverbank ceremonies to magnificent receptions on the spacious parkland. The lavish two-bedroom Villas are a favourite among guests, boasting fully self-contained luxurious amenities, floor- to- ceiling windows displaying stunning River views, a private deck with bath and a personal spa beneath the starry sky.
The venue boasts five accommodation options sleeping up to 24 people with a two-night minimum stay with spas in all accommodations. King size beds, outdoor fire pits, barbeques and smart televisions are a feature throughout. Goolwa River Retreat is a 2.5-hour drive from Melbourne CBD.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolute bliss! We loved every minute of this beautiful slice of paradise on the Murray River. The property is immaculately kept, with stunning fairy lights twinkling through the trees by the water — such a magical touch. We stayed in Cabin 1, which was spotless and beautifully presented. The attention to detail was incredible — from the quality shampoo and conditioner to the little things most places overlook, like cling wrap and bin liners. The view is sensational, and the setting so peaceful. We visited with our 4-year-old and 1-year-old, and they absolutely loved the outdoor spa, bath, and fire pit. Evenings on the balcony, enjoying a BBQ and watching the sunset, made for such special family memories. It’s only about a 20-minute drive to Echuca, where there are plenty of lovely places to eat if you want to head out — though honestly, it’s hard to leave this serene spot! Highly recommend — we can’t wait to come back. Fishing can also be done from the pontoon in front of the cabins if you bring a rod however its nice just to enjoy a vino there.

We truly cannot recommend Goolwa enough as both a wedding venue and a relaxing place to stay for a weekend away. It has now been 3 months since our wedding and we still cannot stop talking about how perfect the entire weekend was. From the moment we arrived and met Nicole and Rob, we knew this was where we wanted to get married. The venue itself is absolutely breathtaking the river views, lush green grass, gum trees with fairy lights, beautiful accommodation and relaxed atmosphere made it feel so magical. What truly makes Goolwa special though is Nicole and Rob. They went so far above and beyond for us all weekend and genuinely cared about our wedding as much as we did. Every little detail was thought of, nothing was ever too hard, and they made the whole experience feel so personal, relaxed and full of love. We honestly could not have imagined a more perfect place to get married. We are forever grateful for the memories we made at Goolwa, we will be visiting again!

We had such an incredible stay. The location is unbeatable, set right on the river with a pontoon that made the whole experience feel peaceful and private. The outdoor area is stunning, with lush, well-maintained grass that’s perfect for relaxing, playing, or just soaking in the view. Inside, the amenities are luxurious. Everything you could possibly think of is provided, making the stay feel effortless and comfortable from start to finish. The beds are comfy, and every detail of the place has clearly been thought through with care and quality. It’s the perfect spot for anyone looking to unwind in a beautiful setting while still enjoying all the comforts of a premium stay. Couldn’t recommend it more.

We had an incredible weekend at Goolwa River Retreat, each cabin has its own private spa. The Murry river is 30 second walk away. The cabins are very clean and accommodating. Rob and Nicole made us feel so welcome. Will definitely be coming back!

Rob and Nicole made the weekend for our brothers wedding truly amazing. Even when the wedding planner dropped the ball Rob the team stepped up to build the dance floor and ensure the night ran perfectly. The accommodation service and entire experience is first class. We all stayed on for another day for recovery which we spent in the river which is truly amazing. While we all drank and danced the night away the team at Goolwa worked tirelessly in the background making sure the bride and groom wanted for nothing. Will definitely return for future weekend and would recommend Goolwa Rob Nicole and the entire team to anyone who is looking for the perfect place for weddings or special event celebrations.
