Mantra on Jolimont

I recently stayed at Mantra on Jolimont after my plans changed and I needed to find somewhere in Melbourne for a quick overnight stay. I managed to book a studio on a red hot sale, which made the whole experience feel like great value from the start. As an Accor Gold member, I was really pleased with the recognition on arrival. I received a complimentary upgrade to a one-bedroom apartment, which was a lovely touch and definitely elevated the stay. There were also welcome drinks and a small welcome gift waiting in the room, which added to the overall value and made the stay feel a bit more special. The room itself was very clean and well-presented, and while the hotel is clearly an older property, it has been maintained well and still holds up nicely. Breakfast was included in my booking. It was quite basic with limited options, but given the low price point, it was acceptable. The only downside was that the dining area is quite small, which could feel a bit cramped during busier periods. What really stood out during my stay was the staff — they were attentive, friendly, and very helpful throughout, which made a big difference. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for money, especially if you can secure a good deal. It’s a solid option for a short stay in Melbourne, particularly if you appreciate friendly service, clean accommodation, and good recognition of Accor loyalty status.

Lovely location walking distance to trams and beautiful gardens. No room service, small kitchenette, one of our pillows was dirty and wasnt changed daily we only stayed 2 nights sobwasnt too bad. Staff was cery helpful and friendly. On site parking is very very tight but worth it and book in advanced given the area. Park and go inside up the stairs to reception on the left to check in they held $100 deposit and my car key i got a little paper car key receipt for that you just grab it on the way out and your buzzed into the car park. Breakfast buffet was worth it book in advanced we booked at check in variety of juices, coffee, hot chocolate, yogurt, fruit, toppings, pasties and hot items like eggs, sausage, bacon, hasbrown and more. Room was nice went for my bday definitely didn't wanna risk it to light a candle in an older building bed was comfy and power points are sockets only no usb. Hair dryer on the wall in the bathroom and water was rather temperamental hot was boil you alive and water pressure wasnt the best. Pool was shut early due to weather and is not monitored actively. Hot tub was luke warm not hot but was nice and had lounges and a small table and chairs beautiful area. Room key was an actual key not a card.

After requesting an early check-in two weeks in advance, the team kindly noted it on their system. We arrived at around 7:30 AM on check-in day, fully expecting that it might be too early and understandably so. To our surprise, they were more than happy to accommodate us. It truly made such a difference to our day, especially as we had an important court appearance and really needed some time to freshen up beforehand. On top of that, they even upgraded our room, which was such a lovely gesture. I rarely leave reviews, but the exceptional service at Mantra on Jolimont absolutely deserves recognition. Thank you so much to the wonderful team for your kindness and hospitality, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Great location, friendly staff, nice stay overall. The room was clean and tidy. A couple of areas needing improvement: The volume is loud every time you switch the TV on. Hopefully this can be rectified. Disappointed that the hotel website doesn't make it clear that on site parking is minimal and must be pre-booked when arranging accommodation. The parking cost was higher than expected and the disabled parking area is not adequate for wheelchair users. The reception staff were helpful in ensuring my car was able to be parked on site, though outside. The call centre staff member that I spoke to about onsite parking was clueless and I ended up rectifying the parking issue myself directly with hotel reception. The mattress was a little uncomfortable (needed turning) but staff were alerted of this on checkout. However, the restaurant offered a tasty spread of breakfast foods which rounded off a generally nice stay. Despite the shortcomings listed above, I will stay at this establishment again in future. Thank you.
