I recently stayed at the Sofitel for 3 nights to celebrate my birthday, and I am still raving about how incredibly well we were taken care of. From the moment we arrived, the luxury and hospitality were unmatched. A few highlights that made our stay unforgettable: The Birthday Treatment: The staff knew it was my special day and surprised us with a complimentary bottle of champagne. It was such a thoughtful, elegant touch that set the perfect tone for the weekend. The Room: Absolutely flawless. It was spotlessly clean, beautifully designed, and offered the perfect, relaxing sanctuary. The Ultimate Gym Perk: As someone who isn't exactly a gym fanatic, my absolute favorite feature was the massage chair in the fitness center. It is a stroke of genius! It’s the perfect way to unwind and enjoy the wellness facilities, even if you skip the actual workout. The team at the Sofitel genuinely understands hospitality. They didn't just host us; they looked after us. If you are celebrating a special occasion—or just want to experience top-tier service—do yourself a favor and book a stay here. We will definitely be back!
I had a fantastic stay and would happily return to Sofitel Melbourne on Collins. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with spacious rooms and all the amenities needed for a relaxing visit. The location was excellent, with convenient access to local attractions, restaurants, and public transport. The breakfast offered a great variety of fresh options, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was calm and inviting. What stood out most was the exceptional customer service and attention to detail. Every interaction with the team was pleasant, and they went above and beyond to ensure I had an enjoyable stay. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for such a memorable experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Melbourne.
We have stayed at Sofitel Melbourne so many times over the years that it truly feels like our home away from home. Collectively, we’ve spent what would amount to months at this beautiful hotel, which is why it’s disappointing to write this review. While we still love the hotel itself, this visit wasn’t up to the exceptional standard we’ve come to expect. On two separate evenings, our turndown service didn’t occur until around 9.00 pm, by which time we were already in bed. On one occasion, the doorbell rang and as my husband got out of bed to answer the door, wearing only his underwear, the staff member had already entered our room. It was an awkward and uncomfortable situation that could easily have been avoided. We also found our experience in Club Sofitel quite disappointing. The service was slow and inattentive, and breakfast each morning was far from the premium experience we’ve enjoyed in the past. After the first experience, we chose to skip Club breakfast altogether and instead dined at No35. I do, however, want to highly commend the team at No35. We enjoyed dinner there one evening and it was outstanding. The food was absolutely delicious, and the wait staff were attentive, professional and genuinely welcoming. It was the highlight of our dining experiences during our stay. We remain very fond of Sofitel Melbourne and will undoubtedly return, as it has become a special place for us over many years. We simply hope these service issues are addressed, because they don’t reflect the high standards that have always made this hotel one of our favourites.
Nice and friendly welcome from the front desk staff. Location is perfect with tram stop number 8 at the door. The rooms are a good size, maybe getting a little dated, but still well appointed and very comfortable. The towels were a bit threadbare and definitely not 5 star quality but that's a minor detail. Still worth mentioning though. Another hotel where no upgrade was possible despite being a Gold Accor Plus member. It seems to be the norm now unfortunately. Internet was intermittent and cut in and out on the 41st floor. Mentioned it to the front desk but it didn't change before checking out. Despite these minor issues it was still an enjoyable stay and I would consider coming back.
Everything was wonderful! The hotel was excellent, and all the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. From check-in to check-out, everything was perfect. The service exceeded my expectations, and I truly enjoyed my stay. Keep up the great work. This is what a true five-star hotel experience should feel like
