About

Peels Cruises have three cruise boats - the Stormbird, the Seabird and the Thunderbird. All three boats have undercover seating, and toilet facilities, the Seabird and Thunderbird also have outdoor seating and view decks. and a kiosk/bar on board.

Several different cruising options available, including a cruise to Metung with a two-course lunch at the Metung Hotel, and the longest cruise you can do distance wise on the Gippsland Lakes - a 70 kilometres cruise taking you all the way to Paynesville. Cruise timetable varies depending on the time of year.

The Gippsland Lakes are abundant in birdlife, wildlife, and sea life. The lakes have their own rare species of Burrunan Dolphin, and a colony of seals visible most of the year. Sightings are not always possible, but we do our best to find where they're hanging out.

Cruising past many of the islands in the Gippsland Lakes gives you a close-up view of kangaroos and other wildlife in their natural habitat. Your skipper will give a full commentary on the history and nature of the Gippsland Lakes.

Peels Cruises is the longest-serving cruise company on the Gippsland Lakes, having begun operating on 14th December 1920, after Harold Peel returned home from World War 1, and now with a fourth generation at the helm.

All of their ferries are also available for private charter.
