Stayed at RACV Cape Schanck Resort recently and overall had a lovely stay, with a few things worth noting for anyone considering the 2-bedroom golf villas. The resort facilities themselves are beautiful, the staff were amazing throughout our stay, and the grounds are very well maintained. The pool and main resort areas are lovely, and while the food was okay, the overall atmosphere of the main resort was relaxing and enjoyable. However, the biggest downside was the location of the golf villas. They are quite a distance from the actual resort facilities, which became frustrating during our stay as it rained the entire time. Every time we wanted to use the pool, restaurants or other resort facilities, we had to drive back and forth instead of simply walking. Room service/in-room dining is advertised, but delivery is not available to the villas, meaning you still need to drive up to the resort to collect your food, which defeats the purpose a little — especially in bad weather. Another issue was that the street where the villas are located has very minimal lighting, so driving back at night in pitch black conditions felt quite eerie and uncomfortable. Inside the villa, the bathrooms were constantly freezing no matter how high we turned the bedroom heaters up. Also, for families with young children, be aware the front doors unlock simply by pulling the handle down. Our 2-year-old figured this out very quickly, which was definitely concerning from a safety perspective. All in all, the stay was still comfortable for myself, my partner and our 2-year-old, and we did enjoy our time away. However, during the colder months I would definitely recommend booking a room in the main hotel rather than the golf villas for easier access to facilities and a more comfortable overall experience.
