Sovereign Hill Hotel

After a long and very cold day at Sovereign Hill with the kids, we were looking forward to spending the night at the hotel we chose because of its proximity to the venue. We were very disappointed. The old air conditioning unit did not work, there was an ancient wall mounted radiator that also did not work. We were left with two very tired kids, freezing in the room. We called for assistance and were given a small portable heater which was nowhere near adequate to heat up or keep the room warm through the night. It is unacceptable that the hotel rents out these rooms in the middle of winter with a basic amenity such as heating not working. I would not stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it to you. It is old and run down and in desperate need of an upgrade. Our family and friends stayed at hotels brown and had a very comfortable night.

The experience fell significantly short of the standards we expected. We checked in late at around 9:30 pm and immediately discovered that the fridge in our room was not working. We had perishable food items, including chicken, that needed refrigeration overnight. We contacted security, but were informed that nothing could be done at that hour. Shortly after, we realised that none of the electrical sockets in the room were functioning. This meant we were unable to charge our phones, and we could not use devices for Netflix or any other entertainment stuff. Essential amenities such as the hair dryer, kettle, and iron were also unusable. In the morning, we spoke with the reception team. The staff member was genuinely helpful and offered to store our milk in the reception fridge and offered the oven in the kids area, but unfortunately there was no electrician available onsite to resolve the issue. We were a bit disappointed and decided to just go to a nearby café for breakfast. Overall, the lack of basic electrical functionality caused significant inconvenience and impacted our stay in multiple ways. I raised a compliant and the hotel manager neither acknowledge it nor called me to apologise.

If spending the day at sovereign hill this is the place to stay . So convenient and our room was lovely and clean. I was impressed. The staff are welcoming and helpful with a lot of info and knowledge.

Bed was amazing , we loved our stay , so did the kids . It was school holidays so super quiet night with no school camps on the go not that it would worry me though. Such a well run place , with amazing staff .. highly recommend
