Protected by a natural reef at the southern end of Seven Mile Beach, the boat channel can be accessed off Rutherford Street in Lennox.
This is a safe haven for the kids, great for snorkeling and perfectly protected from the waves at high tide.
Keep an eye out for the friendly pelicans.
Superb spot for kids (and parents who want to actually relax at the beach!) Took my little ones here and they had the best time. Bring buckets and spades to explore the rock pools/collect shells. Lots of shallow areas to swim/sit in. There is a deeper area on one end for older kids. No huge waves! Parking is easy. There are showers. It's a pretty short distance from parking lot to the water unlike most of the bigger, popular beaches around. Definitely stop here!
Very very good.
Yes this is a great swimming spot but please remember that this is a boat channel, for boats to launch. You do NOT have right of way to swim there if a boat is trying to get out, you are in the way. Move yourself & your kids to the side until they launch. Also DO NOT park right up to the boat ramp in the street as well, use your brain to realise that a 4WD/tractor with a boat trailer attached to it needs room to move. It is very busy on the weekends, so walk a little instead of thinking that you are more important than everyone else!
