Mona Vale rock pool is situated on the tip of a sand spit near the northern end of Mona Vale Beach. There are two rock pools here: a larger pool measuring 30 metres long, and a smaller pool which is suitable for children and less confident swimmers. These pools become surrounded by water at high tide, creating the illusion of floating in the middle of the ocean.
Apex Park, located just behind the rock pools, features a range of amenities including electric barbecues, picnic tables, public toilets, bicycle paths, and a children’s play area. You can also find a number of shops and cafes on nearby Darley Street. Change rooms and toilets are available.
Please note, that Mona Vale rockpool is not available approximately three hours before listed cleaning times and approximately 12 hours after, depending upon prevailing seas.
Mona Vale rock pool sits at the juncture between the big waves of Mona Vale beach, and the more moderate swell at Basin beach. It has one natural wall, and an epic view, whatever direction you’re facing. This one is better at high tide, but coming closer to low exposes the surrounding rocks and lime green seaweed. In the pool it tickles you with tendrils that resemble mermaid hair.
It’s not the most accessible sea pool, with the way to it requiring a short slog across soft sand. However, it is up there with being one of the most picturesque with its 360 degree views. Parking is either in a paid parking lot or free in surrounding streets. Amenities are well presented with showers facing the pool, and useful details like hooks in the change rooms.

Sydney’s rock pools are famous and rightly so. This one is somewhat unique as it’s out on the point and therefore some distance from the main part of the beach. The water is refreshed by the tides regularly and offers a calmer option than the surf or for swimming laps. Definitely worth a dip here.

One of the best places to watch and photography sunrise with panoramic ocean view. Very relaxing beach with lot of activities. There are parking areas but fee apply($10/hour).

We went there and the rockpool is just seriously amazing. It's shallow enough for you to stand. And when you go to the end, fresh seawater flows through (although it's very cold) but it's such a nice and fresh feeling. The view is amazing as well as you can see the waves crash onto the rocks.
There's also rockpool for the kids next to the adult one :)
