Montville Misty View Cottages

Our stay at Misty View Cottages in Montville was absolutely wonderful and one of the most memorable accommodations from our recent Australia trip. The cottage was beautifully secluded, offering the perfect escape to relax and unwind. The views were spectacular, and there was nothing better than soaking in the spa tub while taking in the peaceful surroundings. It felt like our own private retreat in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. What truly sets Misty View apart, though, is the hospitality. The owners treat you like family from the moment you arrive. Their warmth, attention to detail, and genuine care for their guests made us feel incredibly welcome. If you're looking for a romantic getaway, a peaceful retreat, or simply a place to slow down and enjoy nature, I can't recommend Misty View Cottages highly enough. We left wishing we could have stayed longer and would gladly return on a future visit.

We stayed in the Ponti Cottage at Montville Misty View Cottages and it was absolutely unforgettable. The view over the valley is simply breathtaking — the kind you find yourself constantly stopping to admire, morning and night. The private swim spa on the deck was the perfect place to soak it all in, relaxing in complete privacy with nature right in front of us. The cottage itself is pure luxury. Everything was spotless, beautifully presented, and thoughtfully designed. It honestly felt like they had thought of absolutely everything you could possibly need. From the décor to the little touches throughout the cottage, it all added up to a really special experience. The freshly baked croissants delivered by hand in the morning were next-level — warm, flaky, and such a gorgeous personal touch. And the shower… incredible water pressure and beautifully designed, it felt like a day-spa experience in its own right. We left feeling relaxed, spoiled and already planning our return. Highly recommend the Ponti Cottage to anyone looking for a romantic, luxurious and completely peaceful escape.

This was the most outstanding retreat we have ever stayed at. The room was beautiful, private, and tranquil, with the most amazing views—so quiet and peaceful. The host provided lovely local food, along with deliveries of the freshest produce. We could not fault anything and will absolutely be returning again.

We recently spent three nights at Misty View, in the Savoy cottage, and it was exceptional. The hosts somehow manage to make it feel like you are valued guests in their own home while at the same time giving you absolute privacy. The breakfast provisions are not only very generous, but high quality and much of it homemade by Shell, including the bread, jams and yoghurt. Other items are sourced locally. Fresh, warm croissants are left at the door each morning, leaving ample supplies for a leisurely BBQ brunch of eggs, sausages, bacon, mushrooms, tomato and toast. The kitchen is well equipped for simple meals, and the dinner hamper we ordered one night was again ample and high quality, including scrumptious homemade chocolate lava cake. Complementary Maleny chocolates and a decanter of port elevated our evenings. We weren't particularly inclined to leave the cottage once we arrived, but the village is just a short drive away. The cottage is comfortable, with quality furniture and linens and a fireplace which we were able to enjoy on a rainy afternoon even though the middle of summer. As other reviews have mentioned, some of the windows do not have blinds so the light does come in early - but these are high windows that essentially bring the outside in which really makes the cottages special - so pack a sleep mask if you like to sleep in. Very much looking forward to staying there again.
