The Mt Nebo Railway Carriage and Chalet offers a well-groomed vintage experience in the gardens of Roselou Cottage at Mt Nebo. Suitably accommodated for two and only 45 minutes from Brisbane City, the scenic drive makes for an easy getaway. Set amongst a surrounding national park, the beautifully restored 1920's Queensland Railway Carriage and the cosy Chalet will cater for all your needs. Definitely somewhere different!
Entwined in six acres of picturesque property, a peering wander through the gardens is encouraged. A picnic mat, a book and a glass of your favourite beverage goes a long way. On gloomier days, the verandas offer the perfect replacement, providing adequate cover and tranquil views of the surrounding land.
Easy walk and drive to discover the local national parks.

Railway Carriage
The beautifully restored railway carriage, plus the chalet, contain a queen bed, smart tv, bathroom with a shower, toilet and basin. The kitchens have a cooktop microwave, toaster, kettle and small fridge. There are gas bbqs on the verandas. Both sleep two. Linen supplied. BYO toiletries. No candles. Not suitable for children or pets.

Simply wonderful! My partner and I stayed in the converted railway car and had a beautiful time. We roasted potatoes on the fire and cooked up some extras in the kitchenette, and found everything easy and convenient. The place itself is beautifully decorated; overflowing with character and charm. Of particular note was the metalwork. The owner has welded railway spikes into small sculptures that dot the grounds and carriage, including functional lamps and a gorgeous hook for the tea towels in the kitchen. We were constantly surprised with these sweet little additions that added so much to our experience and enjoyment of the visit. The grounds are well maintained, the gardens have beautiful flowers, and all of it is a short walk to cafes, nature walks and hikes, and lookouts. The hosts were friendly and attentive, without being intrusive, and had great recommendations when we inquired. All in all, we cannot recommend it enough, and plan to return for many more cosy nights.

We had two nights at this gorgeous spot, the railway carriage was so unique and we loved it. The bed was comfy and it had everything we needed for a short stay. Having it set up like they were back in the day was fabulous also. The grounds it is on is gorgeous and very serene and peaceful. I would totally stay again.

The railway carriage is absolutely beautiful with so many thoughtful little touches that make every room feel special. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the whole space felt peaceful and unique. We loved being surrounded by nature, especially the abundance of birdlife. Glenn and Renee were fantastic hosts and have created such a special place to stay. Meeting their friendly dog Ollie was an added bonus and made us feel even more welcome. Highly recommend!

Lovely spot. The chalet was very clean and comfortable with private veranda overlooking a pond. Hosts were great. Perfect spot to get out of the city and relax. Cafè/takeaway a very short walk away. Plenty of bushwalks close by. Lovely art sculptures all around - one of the host’s handiwork. We will be back for sure.

We stayed in the quirky old train carriage. Lovely sense of history, with interesting historical information & individual touches, such as the beautiful art work made from discarded farm tools. Very peaceful setting.
