Splitters Farm is a 160-acre property bordered by Splitters Creek, a freshwater nature reserve that feeds into Bundaberg's beautiful Burnett River.
Splitters Farm first started in 2017 as a safe haven and sanctuary for rescued farm animals who had been neglected, abused or victims of their owners change of circumstances. Most, however, have come to Splitters Farm as the result of drought and the subsequent financial burden for farmers to feed their livestock.
The farm offers a self-guided entry seven days a week where you make your way from paddock to paddock at your own pace feeding animals and meeting the many characters of Splitters Farm. This option begins with a 5min safety briefing and guests are given some information to enable them to navigate the farm.
Guided tours run each weekend at 10:30am where a friendly guided personally introduces visitors to the rescue animals and takes you for a behind-the-scenes look where you can also collect eggs, taste honey and learn more about farm life. A photographers dream please bring a camera, drink, sunscreen, hat and covered shoes.
The acreage is a working cattle farm and, in addition to its rescued barnyard animals, is home to native Australian animals including wallabies, platypus, barramundi, prehistoric lung fish and boasts over 150 documented species of Australian bird life.

Our 2nd time visiting Splitters Farm and it was another wholesome holiday. This time we got to introduce a friend to the farm and it was a hit. The kids were waking up in the mornings excited to race out to cuddle baby goats, guinea pigs and feed the many animals. Making damper at the farm was a highlight for the adults and relaxing by the fire at night. As always, the staff are wonderful and add entertainment to all activities.
As a family of 3 with a dog, we had the BEST time at Splitters Farm. The grounds were IMMACULATE and the grass was beautiful to all be barefoot on. The animals were gorgeous, the amenities were perfection (the family bathroom was a dream to have as a family). Camp kitchen was such a beautiful setup, beach area for the creek was beautiful. We honestly can’t fault it, we’ve loved it!
We had the most amazing time staying at Splitter's Farm! we visited over the ANZAC weekend and gave ourselves a long weekend, and it was so much quieter than we expected it to be, eveyone was really well spread out and the check in process was super simple. Farmer Hayley was a wealth of knowledge and always great for a chat. Having the coffee van available over the weekend was AMAZING and was one of the best coffees i've had. Every day there's fresh feed put out for the animals and you can walk around any time and feed/pat them. The camels were gorgeous and so much more interactive than i thought they would be! But by far, my favourite were the highland cows, so beautiful. We also did the guided farm tour on the Saturday and we had the BEST morning, Hayley was so informative and happy to answer questions, and had many bad jokes up her sleeves. Getting up close with the animals was a great family friendly experience and for the price it was more than worth it (I got to cuddle the cows)!! you can tell everyone who works there is passionate, and cares about their animals. thanks for a great weekend!
We stayed here on a powered camp site over Easter and it was fantastic. The sites are a good size, flat and grassed. The farm is great and the kids enjoyed going out everyday to feed and interact with various animals. There's a dam that the kids enjoyed swimming in everyday, as well as bushwalks and various activities run by the hosts. Amentites are great, including the large camp kitchen, and you are only 10 min drive into Bundaberg. The owners and workers are really nice, chill and engaged well with families, and are doing a great job running the farm and park. Overall, having stayed at numerous caravan parks, this has been one of the best ones we have stayed at for families, and the kids had an awesome Easter stay.
This place is absolutely phenomenal. I stayed here over the Easter long weekend with a group of friends, and all ten of us agreed—it was an amazing experience. The facilities were modern and exceptionally clean, and there was more than enough space for everyone without feeling cramped. The staff were outstanding; I’ve honestly never experienced such great customer service at a campsite before. The coffee van and themed dinner nights were fantastic touches, and the animals were a real highlight—there was plenty to see and interact with. Being just 10 minutes from Bundaberg was also really convenient. The only minor downside was that there’s just one toilet block, which can feel a bit crowded in the men’s area during busy weekends like this. That said, I heard from others in our group that the women’s facilities didn’t have the same issue. Even with so many people using them, the toilets were cleaned multiple times a day and were always spotless. We happened to also meet some new people who were also staying there that were lovely and got along with very well. Overall, it was a fantastic stay and I’d very highly recommend it to anyone. We will most definitely be back.
