Sea World Whale Watch is the Gold Coast's Closest Operator to the Humpback Highway; spend less time in transit and more time with the whales! Departing from the Sea World Cruise Terminal in Main Beach, enjoy iconic views of the Gold Coast while cruising on the luxurious Spirit of Migaloo II vessel.
The cruises run up to six times a day from late May until early November, taking you to the Humpback Highway, where 40,000 whales pass close to Gold Coast shores on their annual migration.
Observe the whales launching into the air, slapping their tails, and diving deep into the ocean. During close encounters, hear the iconic whale song through advanced underwater microphones.

Reaching an ancient underwater corridor known as the Humpback Highway in just 20 minutes, enjoy a breathtaking vantage point of 35,000 migrating whales. Marvel at their spectacular and acrobatic aerial displays. See mother whales tenderly care for calves. Feel dwarfed by the size of gentle giants as they curiously approach the vessel. Keep your camera at the ready because whales aren’t the only stars of the show – the cruises routinely encounter charismatic dolphins, enormous sea turtles and resident and migratory seabirds. Season operates between late May to early November.

We had a wonderful day on a Seaworld Whale Watching cruise. My grandson of 6 yrs of age thoroughly enjoyed the rough water exit from the harbour out to the Pacific as well as the numerous whale sightings. We were up close to at least 6 to 8 whales. The staff were excellent - courteous & a very informative commentary during our cruise. And a stunning sunset to end the cruise as we returned to Seaworld. Well done.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What an amazing experience! Captain Uayne and assistant Nicoh were both fantastic throughout the tour. They were professional, friendly, and made everyone feel welcome and safe on board. Seeing the whales up close was absolutely breathtaking and truly unforgettable. It was such a powerful and emotional experience watching these magnificent animals in their natural habitat. The crew shared interesting information and made sure everyone had a great view. Thank you to the Sea World team for such a wonderful whale watching tour. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the Gold Coast!

We had the most amazing time whale watching today! The whole experience was fantastic from start to finish. We saw so many whales, and it was something we’ll never forget. Our 3-year-old daughter had so much fun and absolutely loved every minute of it. A huge thank you to Nicole, who went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great experience. She was so friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared that everyone on board was having the best time. We couldn’t have asked for a better day and would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting the Gold Coast!

Oh my goodness, where do I start! I had an amazing day out on the water today. Our whale watching adventure with Captain Wayne and crew was perfect. The weather couldn't have been more perfect, the ride out into the ocean was perfect, the commentary and information captain Wayne delivered was so informative and interesting. I learnt so much about the humpback 🐋 and to top it of a whale decided to give a spectacular display. It was incredible. Thank you captain Wayne and crew for a wonderful day.

Absolutely amazing experience. You have to do this at least once. The staff and crew were amazing always checking to make sure everyone's ok. Be aware if you get sea sick take some sea sick tablets. It gets choppy out there. We were so very lucky to have the whales appear right next to the boat although we had to go a fair way out to see them. Overall would definitely do this again. So worth the money.
