Sunlover's highly regarded Marine Biologist For A Day is a Citizen Science program for groups of amateur and serious environmentalists (not just school students) who come from all over the world to enjoy a very special underwater classroom on their Moore Reef Pontoon on the Outer Great Barrier Reef. The is an educational experience linked to the Australian School Curriculum created and conducted by their team of marine experts. Topics include reef ecology, climate change, marine life identification, and predators such as Crown of Thorns starfish. For a truly standout educational experience in the world's best classroom, try their Marine Biologist for a Day program. Minimum group of 10 required.

We had a magical day on Fitzroy Island and I can’t wait to go again. The crystal clear turquoise waters on the island were so stunning, and the little bar overlooking the beach was the perfect place to enjoy a refreshing spritz. The Sunlover crew were so friendly and helpful, you can see they really care about what they do. The catamaran was really comfortable and their bar was well stocked with snacks and drinks. I highly recommend Sunlover if you’re wanting to visit Fitzroy island. Next I want to do their tour that goes out to Moore reef, that one looks like so much fun.

We booked a day trip with Sun Lover Reef Cruises and had the most amazing experience from start to finish! The ferry ride from Cairns was smooth and comfortable, and the staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. On the way out, a marine biologist gave an informative and engaging talk, which added so much value to the day. Once we arrived at the pontoon, everything was perfectly set up. The buffet lunch was really good with a great variety, and they provide absolutely everything you need for snorkelling. The team were super helpful getting everyone fitted with wetsuits and life jackets, which made the whole experience easy and stress-free. The glass bottom boat tour was a highlight — we even saw a turtle! You honestly can’t take your eyes off the reef the entire time. Snorkeling was incredible too, with so many different fish and coral to see. And the water slide off the pontoon was such a fun bonus — the only one on the Great Barrier Reef! Overall, it was a fantastic day and an experience I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting Cairns 🌊🐠

We booked a Fitzroy Island cruise with Sunlover Reef Cruises and it was a great experience. Even though we booked very last minute—on the same morning as the trip—there were no issues at all and our names were correctly included on all the manifests. The service was professional and the shuttle was timely, making the whole process very smooth. The island itself is a memorable destination and well worth the visit. We took the 10:10 am to 3:30 pm ferry and managed to hike to the summit and the lighthouse, as well as visit Nudey Beach. However, if you want to add some snorkeling to your day, we would definitely recommend taking the earlier 8:30 am to 3:30 pm option to give yourself enough time.

An amazing experience! A team that truly cares🩵 I highly recommend Sun Lover Cairns! The entire team is incredible—you can really tell they are driven by passion and genuine care. Every staff member was so attentive and kind, making sure every single passenger felt well taken care of throughout the trip.🩵 I want to give a special shout-out to the Hong Kong staff member on the team 🇭🇰. They were exceptionally thoughtful and patient with my parents, ensuring they were comfortable and had a wonderful time. It made such a big difference for us. If you are planning a trip to Cairns, I strongly recommend booking with them. It was a highlight of our trip, and we are so grateful for such a lovely experience! 🇦🇺

We booked the sunlover cruises to a day trip out at Moore Reef and it was fantastic!! It was a well run operation and safety is always a first for them. We didn’t add any extra activities as the snorkelling, the two boat rides, the water slide and the fish feeding was more than enough to fill the four hours. The buffet lunch was pretty good too. We had the best time snorkelling as it was safe and lots to see. Highly recommend this as a day trip!
