Merry-Go-Round

About
Go up and down and round and round on the magical carousel located in Petrie Plaza in the Canberra Central Business District. This picturesque carousel delights children and adults alike with its air of olde-worlde charm. Most of the horses and elephants have names; even Pharlap has his place on the platform.
Beginning life in Melbourne in 1914, the carousel was installed in Canberra in 1974, and has been taking people in circles, and back in time, ever since.

The city looks very festive with its ginormous tree & all the other Christmas decore. Also, since re-doing the cement walkway, it not only looks nice but I'm sure that since all the bumps & cracks have been fixed, it will make it 100x more accessible & safe for wheelchairs users & even anyone pushing a pram or trolley.

I have been riding on this merry go round since I was a child. I love the simple joy of choosing your horse (or elephant) and watching the world go by. Very reasonable price of $3 per person. They take exact cash or card. They also sell drinks, packaged ice creams, and childrens pinwheels. Even as an adult I enjoy this ride whether I am alone or riding with my own child. Highly recommended.

Canberra Moon Festival is amazing. It was wonderful to celebrate this festival with people from all around the world who are living in Canberra. I loved how both adults and children sat together on the ground to enjoy the performances. And I was exited to win the 3rd prize in the trivia

Charlie was very inconsiderate. Considering it was only 2:50 and there were 8 kids in line waiting for the next ride he decided to close and not do a last round. We tried asking several times and he ignored it. It is very clearly stated that if there is the demand the opening hours could be extended but he clearly did not took it into consideration
