We always have a wonderful time whenever we visit the Portrait Gallery. This time we were lucky enough to have a private tour too. Staff are knowledgeable, patient and always happy to discuss the artists or subjects in more detail. We love how the Portrait Gallery works to dispel what a “portrait” should be and displays different forms of portraiture that challenges the viewer to really get in close and think about what they see and know. The reconfiguration of the main room upon arrival with the 10 portraits is so impactful and sets a good tone for what’s to come!
