Showcasing the largest private collection of native fauna in Western Australia, Caversham Wildlife Park invites you to experience magical close encounters with Australia's cutest inhabitants.
Here's your chance to hand-feed kangaroos and have your photo taken with a koala. Watch the penguins being fed, enjoy wandering through the Reptile House, and play with the farm animals at Molly's Farm.
A hugely popular interactive experience is 'Meet the Wombat and Friends' - with around 20 Australian species to meet and learn about, it is fun and educational.
Another attraction not to miss is the Farm Show, where the country comes to town! Watch mustering sheepdogs, sheep shearing, swinging the billy, milking the cow and bottle feeding the lambs.
With about 200 species and 2000 individuals, this is the largest private collection of native animals in Western Australia. There is something for everyone at Caversham Wildlife Park.
Situated at the heart of Whiteman Park in the Swan Valley, it's less than a 30-minute drive northeast of Perth to reach the wildlife park.
Once you've snapped plenty of great family memories, head into the surrounding Whiteman Park to enjoy some of the many other attractions within the park.

Despite arriving after lunch and realising the attraction was closing soon, we still decided to buy the tickets as seeing the koalas was at the top of our list. Upon entering, we were greeted by a free-roaming peacock strolling across the rooftop, which immediately got everyone excited. It was such a memorable welcome. We made it in time for the sheep shearing show, which was informative and engaging. We especially enjoyed learning about the traditional Australian way of making billy tea, where the tea is brewed by swinging the billy can in a circular motion. The koala encounter was definitely the highlight. While waiting for our photo, we read interesting facts about koalas. It added an educational experience rather than just another photo opportunity. The peacock made one final appearance just as we were leaving and fully spread its stunning feathers right in front of us. It was the perfect ending to our visit. Although we only had a short time visit, we managed to enjoy the main highlights. If you're planning to visit, I'd recommend arriving earlier to fully explore everything the park has to offer.
Good spot for visitors to interact with Australian wildlife. We came from the USA and loved feeding and petting the Kangaroos, interacting with the Koala Bears, and seeing all.of the other animals. It is well.laid out for a half day adventure.
I visited with a couple of friends and honestly felt like a kid again. The park is quite big with lots of animals to see. My favourite part was the meet-the-koala session, being able to touch one and take a photo was such a special experience. They’re so adorable and fluffy. We also enjoyed the farm show, and feeding the kangaroos was really fun. It’s very interactive, which makes the whole visit even better. I came during the Easter long weekend so it was pretty busy, but still enjoyable. The staff were friendly and helpful even though they looked quite busy. There’s plenty of parking, and it’s located inside Whiteman Park, so it’s easy to spend a few hours (or more) here. It’s a great place for kids but honestly fun for all ages. Such a happy day overall, would definitely recommend!
I loved every bit of Caversham Wildlife Park! I would give it a 6 stars if I could! It was amazing to see so many native Australian animals up close, including kangaroos, koalas, wombats, and reptiles. Unlike Melbourne Zoo, where enclosures felt empty, Caversham offers abundant wildlife, intimate and an immersive interaction experience. You can easily spend 4–5 hours here. Pro tip: Don't wear your best sneakers! You’ll be walking right up to the kangaroos for photos, so you might step in some poop. The farm show was a highlight—watching the herding dog, seeing a sheep shearing demonstration, and even getting to milk a cow! It’s also wonderful to see how they involve volunteers to care for the animals. They were patient to explain and share about the animals. Very patient and you didn’t really feel rushed when it was an up close with a specific animal. Highly recommend!
It was such a fun, family-friendly experience! Check their website beforehand for the special events happening on the half-hour, as the various events aren't happening that close to each other and will require planning and prioritisation. The Farm Show we started with gave a good appetiser to the Park with a brief introduction to sheep shearing and other farm tasks involving animals. Make time for Molly's Farm and the Reptile House - these do not have shows at fixed times, but are interesting enough to plan for spending time exploring these areas. The Koala encounter involves some queuing but the queue moves fast, giving groups and families and a chance to get close to a Koala and take photos together. Carrying a Koala requires separate paying though. Note that a photo with a wombat also requires a separate ticket purchase at the gift shop near the park entrance. This means pre-planning helps - the wombats are housed at nearly the furthest end of the park, and if you decide to take a photo with them only when you reach them, you'd have to head back to the gift shop to get a ticket. Kangaroo feeding is a must - the feed is provided, and you get to enter a wide area with free-roaming kangaroos and attempt to feed them. The entrance and exit to the Kangaroo Walk-through are adjacent and both very near to the farm entrance. The food served at the Kiosk is frozen and heated upon order - but it was surprisingly satisfying! We had Mac & Cheese, Shepherd's Pie and Lasagna - we enjoyed them :) Overall a must-visit! Check out the weather forecast and aim for a clear sunny day for optimal enjoyment
