Cockburn Ice Arena is one of the best family-friendly attractions in Perth and a fantastic place to experience ice skating, whether you're a complete beginner or a confident skater. The Olympic-sized rink is well maintained, the ice quality is excellent, and there is plenty of room for everyone to enjoy themselves without feeling overcrowded. The staff are friendly, patient and helpful, especially with first-time skaters. Skate hire is quick and straightforward, and there are skating aids available for younger children, making it an enjoyable experience for the whole family. The venue also offers lessons, ice hockey, curling and public skating sessions, so there's always something happening. The facilities are clean and well organised, with a café and restaurant overlooking the rink where you can relax with a coffee or meal while watching the action. It's a great atmosphere whether you're celebrating a birthday, spending time with friends, or simply looking for a fun and active day out. A few tips: arrive a little early to allow time for skate fitting, wear warm clothing because it gets quite cold inside, and if you're visiting during weekends or school holidays, booking ahead is a good idea as sessions can be popular. Overall, Cockburn Ice Arena is a unique Perth experience that offers great value, excellent facilities and plenty of fun for all ages. Highly recommended for families, couples and anyone wanting to try something different!

Went on a Groupon! Great arena, blunt skates and just WAY WAY too many people, like central park NY packed. Went a Saturday arvo, so expected, but would just pick a different time if you want to actually skate.

Well- it definitely lives up to the name! Pretty good all around experience, except for one especially nasty fall where my weiner scraped up against the ice! Not a pleasant experience, to say the least. Facility was top notch though! Will be returning after the little feller heals 😅

I am writing to formally complain about the extremely unprofessional and unfriendly service I received from a blonde-haired female staff member working at the counter during my recent visit. Her attitude was dismissive, rude, and completely lacking basic customer service manners. As a paying customer, I was made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. This was not a minor issue or a misunderstanding — it reflected a clear lack of proper service training at a company level. If this is the standard of service your company accepts, it is deeply concerning. Continual experiences like this will undoubtedly drive customers away. I find it hard to believe that no customer service training or accountability is in place. I expect this matter to be taken seriously and addressed appropriately. Please review your staff training and management practices to ensure this kind of experience does not continue. I look forward to your response and to seeing concrete improvements. I would like to clarify that my review is based on a real visit and a real experience. I did visit on that day, and unfortunately, I received the worst service. The issue was not minor. I was assisted by a young female staff member with blonde hair at the counter, whose attitude throughout the interaction was unprofessional and disrespectful. I specifically requested to rent a kangaroo, but without proper explanation, I was given a seal instead. When I politely asked to change it, the staff member responded with a very displeased facial expression that made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Additionally, when I was asked to pay a deposit and handed over the receipt, it was pushed back to me in a rude manner, clearly showing intentional disregard. The behavior felt dismissive and demeaning. I am not writing this to attack the business, but because I genuinely believe that owners should listen to customer feedback rather than dismissing it as false or malicious. Labeling a customer as a “fake reviewer” without proper consideration is deeply disappointing. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so the service can improve for future customers.
