Without Paul being my guide of this private half-day Swan Valley Wine Tour, my visit would not be that smooth and unforgettable. Before the tour, Paul asked for my preference to customise my day and offered me tailor-made options. I appreciate his effort to curate a personal itinerary including visits to the following winemakers: Mandoon Estate; Nikola Estate and Olive Farm Wines to showcase the Valley’s award-winning wines. Four wineries were originally arranged. The beauty of having a private tour is its flexibility for rearrangements. After visiting the third winery, Paul asked me if I would like to proceed to the fourth one or visit a coffee shop called Yahava Koffeeworks instead. Feeling a bit tipsy at that time, I decided to visit a coffee shop as a beautiful twist and ending of this private tour. Paul is extremely experienced and knowledgeable. He knows very well where to explore the very best of Perth’s iconic wine region and enjoy an authentic wine experience. I had a very relaxing and intimate afternoon visiting the Swan Valley’s wineries. We had an absolutely wonderful time on our wine tour. Shannon was exceptional, her extensive knowledge of the region, the wines, and the wineries really elevated the whole experience. She was patient, engaging, and made sure we enjoyed every moment. Every winery we visited was unique and worth the stop, each had its own charm and amazing wines to try. It was a great private experience, and we felt so well looked after throughout the day. Would 10/10 recommend Up Close and Local and would love to go again!

Had a wonderful day on the Asian Walking food tour through Vic Park with Thu. Some epic food and some food we may never have otherwise tried if not for the tour. Fun to experience an area in our own city that we haven’t explored for quite some time. A really fun outing! Thoroughly recommend!

Shannon is an excellent tour guide, highly experienced and knowledgeable about wineries. During the trip, she asked thoughtful questions, like whether it was my first time in Perth and what places I planned to visit. She also shared some great recommendations for my trip. Throughout the journey, she made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. We visited four different wineries to sample their unique wines. The standout for me was the Honey Wine, which had an incredibly distinctive taste and isn’t available in supermarkets. It left a lasting impression. For future visitors, I’d recommend emailing Up Close and Local Tours ahead of time to check if it's the right season to witness production or harvesting. Since we visited in Spring, most of the production had already finished, and the vines were awaiting the next reproduction cycle. As a result, we primarily enjoyed wine tastings during our tour.

Paul is very knowledgeable, friendly and flexible in his tours! And he is EXTREMELY punctual with all the agreed timings! His car was very well-maintained and clean - making the entire experience very comfortable. We had a great time on the Caversham Wildlife Park, Swan Valley and Orchard Hills Fruit Picking tours with Paul. Definitely recommend!
