Visitors can participate in a range of complementary public programs and workshops catering for all ages and abilities. The Gallery also includes a workshop and education space, a research library, the Gallery Shop and the Gallery Café with indoor and outdoor seating.
The Margaret Olley Art Centre celebrates the career, life and legacy of Margaret Olley, Australia's most celebrated painter of still life and interiors. Margaret Olley Art Centre combines exhibitions, interactives and the permanent re-creation of areas of Olley's famous home studio. Margaret Olley Art Centre is complemented by the Nancy Fairfax Artist in Residence Studio.
2nd time visiting .. and this time we were in time for a guided tour (free) by a passionate volunteer, Julie, who shared heaps about Margaret Olley and also a out the variety of art works. Much better experience compared to sef touring the beautiful works, thank you :-)
The Tweed Regional Gallery is a lovely gallery. Margaret Olley's house is amazing to look at😊 The gallery is set in a peaceful, pretty setting. The cafe has a gorgeous view.
Wonderful, with the Margaret Olley installation a standout. Greg Weights photographic exhibition also captured some of the legends in Australian art and culture. If you go with plenty of time to spare then spend it in the library and make sure to visit Apex Dining for lunch, the garlic and ginger prawns were delicious.
What a gorgeous place to visit. Both the natural beauty surrounding the gallery, which you can admire while eating a delicious lunch, and the art inside the gallery. Seeing inside Margaret Olley's house really takes you into her mind and shows you all the creativity that was bursting out of her.
I was inspired by looking at these arts of Margaret Olley, her work of art is surreal and beautiful. My children were also drawn into it. Very informative when Poppy gave us the opportunity to share her thoughts on art. Thank you.
