About

Moana is an easy-going beachside town on the northern Fleurieu Peninsula, less than 40 kilometres south of Adelaide and just minutes from the McLaren Vale wine region. Its long, wide beach is popular for swimming, surfing, snorkelling, fishing and coastal walks, with plenty of room to settle in for the day.

One of Moana's defining features is its drive-on beach access, with vehicles permitted on designated sections subject to council conditions, permits and access fees. It makes beach days particularly easy when you're arriving with boards, shelters, fishing gear or everything required for a full day by the water.

Swimming areas are patrolled by surf lifesavers during the summer months, while the surrounding Mid Coast is also well known for surfing. Cafés and the surf lifesaving club sit close to the foreshore, with Port Noarlunga, Aldinga and McLaren Vale all within easy reach.

Facing west across Gulf St Vincent, Moana is also a very good place to stick around for sunset before heading inland for dinner or a glass of McLaren Vale wine.
