A small family run restaurant, Parwana opened its doors in 2009 with a simple instinct: to share, as widely as possible, the treasured recipes from a homeland the Ayubi family was forced to flee and leave behind.
With each meal, diners are invited into a little-known story of Afghanistan. Told through the rich diversity of ingredients, enduring generosity, and spirit of collectivity woven delicately into each morsel – it is a story which believes that even loss and suffering can be forged into shared beauty and hope.
Nearing two decades on, diners continue to be welcomed into Parwana's vibrant dining rooms to experience the fragrant assortment of bejewelled long-grained rice dishes, simmering braised eggplants, aromatically spiced stews, tender grilled meats, hand-folded dumplings, warm naans, tart pickles and more, that combine to make the family's beloved Afghan cuisine.
