Hidden upstairs at Hains & Co, Admiral's Quarters is the quieter side of one of Adelaide's best-loved small bars, with classic cocktails, an extraordinary whisky collection and a very special blacony few very good seats overlooking the city.
Climb the stairs, slip through the curtain and settle into a booth, take a seat at the bar or find a perch on the balcony overlooking historic Edmund Wright House. With room for just 50 guests, it's intimate, comfortable and made for good company.
At its heart is a collection of more than 620 whiskies, gathered over nine years. It spans rare bottlings, limited releases, old favourites and whiskies no longer in circulation, with plenty you're unlikely to come across very often. You don't need to know your Speyside from your Islay to enjoy it. The team loves helping people discover whisky, whether that means something rare or simply a really good dram.
Whisky is only part of the story. Classic cocktails are given the attention they deserve, alongside Champagne, wine, other spirits and a small selection of food. Premium cigars can be enjoyed on the dedicated cigar balcony.
Come upstairs for a drink before dinner, networking, a nightcap, a date, or simply because the night calls for somewhere upstairs.
