Park Fire Ban - Blue Mountains National Park
A park fire ban is in place in this park and remains in effect unless otherwise extended or removed. During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamine) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are permitted as long as:
- They're under direct control of an adult
- The ground within 2m of the barbecue is cleared of all flammable materials
- There's an adequate supply of water (minimum of a bucket)
However the following campgrounds are exempt:
- Galon Cabins
- Murphy's Campground
- Dunphy's Campground
- Burralow Creek Campground
- Euroka Campground
- Mount Werong Campground
If a Total Fire Ban is in place, different rules apply. Contact the local park office before bringing a gas or electric barbecue or cooker.
Penalties apply for non-compliance. For more information about fire bans in parks and reserves including your responsibilities, visit the NSW National Parks fire safety page.

An unsealed road popular with walkers and cyclists and only a couple of hours from Sydney; it’s the perfect quick nature getaway.
From Kings Tableland the sweeping views of undulating bushland are inspiring. The houses are replaced with bushland and the trail winds forests, heath and unique rock formations. At Ingar campground enjoy a swim in one of the magical waterholes and unpack a picnic. With so much to explore, you might be tempted to pitch a tent and stay a while.
Relatively flat, it’s a good ride for beginner mountain bikers.

Fun continuous downhill from Wentworth Falls side. Good luck getting back up on the 20% gradient Woodford side after crossing the creek :) At the creek crossing, unless the water is very low, you almost have to get your feet wet (unless you have waterproof shoes and very good balance). Overall a fun time, can take the train back up to Wentworth Falls from Woodford.

Lovely walk out cycle down to Ingar camp ground. Now closed to vehicles but still open to pedestrians and bikes. Limited parking up the top in the street and old lady from the house next door with clearly nothing to do will come and accost you even if you try to stop to drop someone off.

A very downhill ride from wenty and then heart breaking uphill to Woodford. At the start you can take a detour to see the Aboriginal rock carvings and ancient rock painting. About halfway you can take a detour to Ingar camping ground for a break and check out the little lake. inaccessible currently to cars.
