About

It's time to delve into the past and Berrima is just the village to visit. Home to Australia's oldest continually licensed Inn - the Surveyor General, amazing colonial sandstone buildings (one which houses Eschalot, a hatted restaurant) and even a ghost, along with Berrima Court House and Harper's Mansion.

This delightful historic destination in the Southern Highlands is just 122 kilometres southwest of Sydney and has a unique collection of Georgian, sandstone homes and public buildings from the 19th century. There are craft galleries, coffee shops and tea houses, making it a great short break.

Browse through the many craft shops, galleries and antique shops, visit the Courthouse Museum and enjoy a Guinness and a meal at the Surveyor General Inn, Australia's oldest continually licensed inn. Berkelouw Books, now known as Bendooley Estate is a converted barn near Berrima that is packed with 300,000 second-hand books, cafes and cellar doors, along with accommodation.

Surrounding towns and villages include Joadja, Medway and New Berrima.
