Franklin River Rafting 9 day expedition

9-Day Franklin River + Frenchmans Cap. Our ultimate Franklin expedition: nine days covering the full Franklin River from Collingwood Bridge on the Lyell Highway to the Gordon River and Strahan, plus a full day ascent of Frenchmans Cap (1446m), the white quartzite dome of Tasmania's South West World Heritage Area. The ascent is steep and rewarding, climbing from ancient temperate rainforest to open alpine moorland and the summit, with 360-degree views over the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park.

The rest of the journey is pure Franklin: powerful rapids including The Cauldron and Thunderush, the tranquil Irenabyss, the awe-inspiring Great Ravine, and Rock Island Bend, the iconic image by Peter Dombrovskis that helped save the river.

This trip is for those who want the full river plus the summit. No previous rafting or climbing experience required, just reasonable fitness, sense of adventure and willingness to work as a team.
