The Basin campground

The Basin campground

We didn’t camp this time. we walked down via The Basin Track, stopping by the Basin Aboriginal art site on the way, and spent some quiet time unwinding right by the water. It’s an absolute gem of a spot, but walking that track made it very clear that hauling heavy camping gear down on foot wouldn’t be easy. We noticed the ferry timetables at the wharf; taking the ferry across is definitely the smarter way to do it if you're bringing gear. Would love to come back for an overnight stay.

A very short, peaceful, and grounding walk surrounded by pure nature. The track to the engravings is super easy and well marked. Standing beside thousands of years of history right in the middle of the bush was truly special and walking back in the late afternoon silence, we were lucky enough to spot these two perched up in the trees. One of those quiet spots that just clears your mind.

Bobbin Head

Bobbin Head

Bobbin Head is such a beautiful and peaceful place. The scenery is lovely, with great walking trails and plenty of space to relax and enjoy nature. It’s a perfect spot for a picnic with family or friends, and there are some really nice areas to sit by the water. The walking tracks also make it a great place to spend a few hours exploring. Definitely worth visiting if you’re looking for a relaxing day out surrounded by nature.
