Welcome to Hotel Indigo Melbourne on Flinders, the perfect hub for the curious adventurer looking to unlock the mysteries and marvels of Flinders Lane. Discover the best of the neighbourhood through their plush boutique designs and tantalising experiences artfully weaving local stories in everything they do. The ‘lights, camera, action' styling flows from the lobby to the hotel rooms, as an ode to legendary artist Helmut Newton, the internationally acclaimed and at times controversial photographic icon who launched his stellar career in the neighbourhood.
But that's just the tip of the iceberg. Flinders Lane is the beating heart of Melbourne, and it's got a colourful history that you won't find in any travel guide. This place has seen it all, from playboys, crooks and creatives. You can feel the intrigue in the air as the modern story unfolds upon a rich and interesting tapestry from times gone by. Warehouse conversions bring a new energy and modern aesthetic. Nothing in this part of town remains idle for long. You might stumble upon hidden bars or discover a fashion boutique in a surprising location. It's like a treasure hunt, and the prize is an experience you'll never forget.
I’m on solo trip. I’m staying here for two nights. Here are some of my personal thoughts about the hotel: Decoration: I may say it more like the style of contemporary art. It surprised me when I stepped into the lobby. The art works, photographs matches well with the designer’s style. It’s quite memorable and impressive. Room: lights are warm and bright. It matches greatly with the paintings and the decorations. Facilities are new and clean. No bad smells (as u may some new hotels may have that bad smell for decorating materials) Service: The most impressive point is the service here. The staff here are quite friendly and welcoming. Especially Krish, the gentleman helped me check in today. He is very welcoming, patient and considerate. As a business manager myself, I believe that the way the staff treat their customers can directly reflect the quality and level of its management. I can tell the hotel is doing a great one on this! Thank u all for this great experience! Please keep on it!
We had level six with two queen size beds. Close to Spencer St Station. Beautiful breakfast. Quality over quantity. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. Beds were very comfortable. Would stay here again.
We had two double beds in our room. The room was very spacious with 28 m2. The beds were comfortable with soft or firm pillows, so we could choose. The shower tub and bathroom itself was spacious. The foyer included a luggage area that I could open my luggage and my husband put his inside the room. The room just had a lot of space that we could spread all of our items on the floor. The staff was helpful as we asked for the help to order a taxi and packed our breakfast for takeaway because we had to leave early that we could not enjoy our breakfast buffet. Overall, I would recommend others to stay here. The hotel is near Southern Cross Station. It is located on the quiet side of the Melbourne CBD. But we could still take the free trams within the free zone. It is still considered convenient.
Just a reminder, this is a 8 levels building. Be careful if you want to choose City View rooms. Even you’re staying on the top floor, there’s not much to see. We booked a Premium King City View room for 7 nights on Agoda. The attached photo is the original room they put us in on the sixth floor. We are basically facing a car park building and it’s just a basic street view. We argued with the reception because we paid extra for the view, otherwise we should get the standard king room with breakfast included with the same price. They switched us to the eighth floor and facing the Grand Hotel but still far from what you would expect for a city view. They shouldn’t advertised any city view rooms at all, that is a bit cheeky. Another thing makes me feel cringy is they used young female elements on the designs everywhere, hotel room wall (behind the beds), bathroom glass, hallway, lift, and artworks on the wall. I’m pro girls power but this design is more like to satisfy curtain groups of people. Just my personal opinion. The hotel in general is pretty new and the rooms are pretty clean. There’s room service everyday. The car park price is reasonable and only cross the street. The bar staff are very friendly. It is still a good hotel that worth the money except the city views.
Very disappointing stay. Our booking was incorrect, and we were given a room with only one bed. We then had to pay extra for a rollaway bed for our son, which was left for us to set up ourselves. Housekeeping was poor: not enough towels, dirty towels not removed, and my Dyson hair dryer was left on the shower bench. The bed was badly made, with the mattress protector visible. The room had multiple maintenance issues. The air conditioner constantly beeped due to a faulty sensor, the control panel was loose, and the room remained uncomfortably hot. Another device in the room kept talking and announcing that it needed charging. To top it off, a dirty room service tray sat outside our door for our entire three-day stay. Overall, this hotel was poorly managed and not worth the money. We would not stay here again or recommend it. In a place like Melbourne spend your money elsewhere
