Iluka Retreat - Glamping Village and Group Lodge Accommodation

My partner and I spent two nights glamping at Iluka and we had a really nice stay. Our tent was comfortable and set up nicely, with a Queen bed and a heater. We stayed in a tent with a perfect view overlooking the lake. The property was beautiful and full of life with native flora and wildlife coexisting with all us glampers. There's a shared kitchen and BBQ area too, which was handy for cooking. It's very close to some really nice wineries and cozy restaurants. Everything was clean and well looked after during our stay. We'd happily recommend it to anyone and we'd definitely go back ourselves :)

Our stay at Iluka was nothing short of absolutely exceptional! We booked a stay for mid July and on a crisp cool winters evening were we delighted to be met with a cozy, warm, immaculately present glamping tent. We arrived after dark and had no issue locating our tent as we were provided with a compressive map and a lantern to guide us. Once we reached the tent we were greeted with copious amounts of warm blankets, a super comfy bed and even an array of card games which provided great entertainment. Waking up to the sound of the birds chirping and the animals in nature reserve surrounding the tent was such a pleasant way to spend the morning. The staff were so accomodating and made the stay seamless from start to finish. Thank you to Amanda and the team at Iluka we will be back for sure!

We arrived at around 5:10 PM and had to leave in the middle of the night and book accommodation elsewhere because we felt unsafe staying there. It was a Sunday night, so I understand that there were not many guests at the property. However, despite the campsite being mostly empty, we were assigned Tent 21, which was one of the furthest tents from the car park. As two women travelling alone, this was very unsettling. Although we arrived at 5:10 PM, because of daylight saving it became dark very quickly. While lanterns were provided and I understand that there is no built-in lighting inside the tents, the entire campsite should have had adequate lighting so guests could safely see where they were walking and locate their tents. The main issue was having to walk such a long distance from the car park to the tent in near-complete darkness. With very few people around, it felt isolated and quite frightening. There was also very long grass in front of our tent, and we could hear voices nearby, which made us feel even more uncomfortable and unsafe. We had also paid extra for a fire pit, and I want to clarify that I am not complaining about the quality of the tent or the fire pit itself. The facilities may have been perfectly fine. My concern is that when the property was largely empty, it would have been much more considerate to allocate us a tent closer to the car park rather than placing us so far away. This experience left us feeling unsafe and ultimately forced us to leave and spend additional money on alternative accommodation.

Everything was clean, organized, and designed to create a comfortable glamping experience without compromising the charm of being close to nature. Overall, I highly recommend Iluka Retreat Glamping to anyone looking for a peaceful escape near Melbourne. It’s a perfect destination for families, couples, or even small groups who want to enjoy quality time in a beautiful and well-equipped setting. I would definitely love to visit again in the future.
