This is the last day of Sunday22/03/26 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰Arriving at 0600am is the best, remember to bring clothes in the morning the weather temperature is low. Remember to walk to the river after watching the hot air balloon. Looking at a hot air balloon gives you the feeling that time has stopped. It was amazing. Must go all darling …
Had such a wonderful time at the balloon event held at Patrick White Lawns in Canberra a few weeks ago 🎈 The atmosphere was simply magical — watching the hot air balloons slowly rise into the crisp morning sky was a truly unforgettable experience. The colours, the calmness, and the stunning backdrop made it feel almost surreal. Everything was well organised, and there was a great mix of families, photographers, and early risers all sharing the same sense of excitement. It was one of those events that makes you pause and really appreciate the moment. Definitely one of the highlights of the season — already looking forward to the next one!
Went there this morning to celebrate my wife's birthday and watch the hot air balloons. The area was wide enough to accommodate a large crowd. There was also enough parking for everyone. Overall, the place is a really pleasant place to go chill.
Great spot to watch the balloons take off for enlighten festival but definitely here early! Parks disappear very quickly and the traffic builds up fast. You'll miss getting a close park if you arrive after 615 on festival days. There's some food, music and coffee while enlighten is on, and nothing here the rest of the time.
The Canberra Balloon Spectacular is filling the sky over the next few days running from the 9th till the 17th of March 2024... Patrick White Lawns, next to the National Library of Australia, is the new launch site for the balloons! They usually take off around 6.30 am, so get tbere a little early as depending on the wind, they might leave early or later... As a general rule if winds are above 10km/hour or are coming from the west, the balloons are unlikely to launch from Patrick White Lawns, his is because the balloons cannot fly into the airport’s airspace. You can pack a picnic basket with a blanket and kick back until the balloons are ready to launch or there is plenty of food, coffee, etc... that is available, and you can get great close-up shots at launch!
