If I could give a 100 star review I would. A fantastic experience when visiting Port Arthur. This adventure starts with a short bus trip to Eaglehawk Neck where the boat awaits. The staff were excellent and we had Laura and Lilly on the trip. This cruise takes you right down to Tasman Island and right up close to a number of seal colonies. Our guides were well informed about the area and explained how the cliff faces were formed and other geographical information about the area. We were impressed with their attention to safety detail and were always making sure every one was ok. The boats are purpose built for the environment and can get quite close to the cliff faces where the seals are. Every seat gives you a great view so it's easy to take photos and video. We were lucky enough to see dolphins right up at the boat, along with Albatross. The dolphins were working to push up small fish to the surface and they were eating them, also providing food for the birds. After the cruise the bus takes you back to Port Arthur. There is also free parking for your vehicle before you head out on the adventure. This company offers other cruises in Tasmania including Bruny Island and some on the east coast. Also day trips from Hobart can be organised for other cruises as well. Can highly recommend Pennicott Wilderness Journeys.
