From courtesy pick up to drop off, the tour includes everything - delicious meals, quality snorkel gear, free photos, an exclusive spotter plane to locate marine life and, importantly, a safety support boat for all whale shark tours. Non-swimming observers are also welcome aboard the 17-metre vessel with its spacious shaded deck and marlin board, perfect for aquatic activities.
Three Islands Whale Shark Dive warmly welcomes you aboard for a unique and exciting wildlife interaction with the whale sharks of Ningaloo Reef.

This seasonal tour operates from late March to early July. Swimming with a whale shark, the world's biggest fish on Ningaloo Reef is one of the most exhilarating and unique experiences of a lifetime. Following a courtesy transfer from Exmouth to Ningaloo Reef, you are transported out to the vessel for the commencement of your whale shark adventure. The day begins with a snorkel on the reef where you will see some of the residents - an amazing variety of brilliantly coloured fish, rays, turtles, perhaps a leopard shark and maybe even a dugong. Re-board the boat for morning tea and a whale shark briefing from your expert staff and by the time this has finished, their spotter plane has begun the search for whale sharks and you are cruising to the outer reef. Once spotted, your whale shark adventure begins!

A Humpback Whale Tour is a day you’ll cherish forever. From August to mid-October, they will be operating Humpback Interaction Tours on the stunning Ningaloo Reef. Ningaloo sees one of the largest populations of migrating Humpback Whales. These majestic creatures cruise past the west coast each year, providing the perfect opportunity to observe them and if the conditions are right, snorkel alongside for an amazing experience. They start the day with a boat cruise from the Exmouth Marina to the tip of the Cape where their Humpback Whale interactions take place. They will conduct an introductory reef snorkel along the way. Once a group of whales are located, they will observe them and if their experienced staff determine it is safe to do so, swimmers will be allowed to enter the water to try for an in-water interaction. Humpback Whales are known to be curious creatures, so the interaction is all up to them! While they will do everything they can to ensure an in-water Humpback Whale Interaction, they cannot guarantee that you will get to swim with them. Unfortunately there are no repeat tours or refunds available.
10 stars 🌟 If you’re thinking of swimming with the whale sharks you cannot go past this company. The lovely ladies and captain (sorry forgot all their names, on the 09/06 tour onboard Seafari). From pick up to drop off the tour was amazing. Hannah provided an informative talk on our way to Tantabiddi Boat Ramp. Once on board the demonstration was memorable with the girls making it entertaining so everyone listened. The care, respect and kindness the crew gave the passengers and whale sharks was impressive. Food including lunch was plentiful and delicious. Filtered water was appreciated. The standout was the ladders to get back onboard not just a marlin board. Friends that have done similar tours only had the marlin board making getting back onboard challenging. We were fortunate enough to swim with 3 different whale sharks with the last couple of drops providing excellent visibility. We loved the day!! Thank you so much for such a wonderful day that we will never forget 💙🙌🏻
This was an exceptional experience. We were picked up from where we were staying in Exmouth and driven to the wharf. Hannah, our guide, entertained us on the way with lots of interesting facts about the town, the reef and the Cape Ranges. Before and after the whale shark experience we had a snorkel on the reef which was lovely. I recommend staying on the bow for the ride out, especially if the water is clear, because you can spot heaps of sea life on the way. Once we were on the way outside the reef, we received a detailed, clear and funny briefing to prepare us for the experience. I only wanted to do this if I felt confident that it wasn't harmful to the animals, and the briefing was very reassuring. You hop into the water, line up in a row, watch the whale shark pass, then swim along side it once you are in line with it pectoral fins. It works great, because they swim in a straight line. We were able to get in 5 times! We had some older people in our group, but the team has a little boat that can pick up anyone who falls behind. We also had a photographer, AJ, who put lots of effort into making sure everyone could get a photo with the whale shark. We were provided the photos afterwards as part of the experience. The team also gave us a good lunch, snacks, drinks and had extra material about the Ningaloo Reef and whale sharks that we could read on the way home.
Amazing experience! All the crew were fantastic, entertaining and made sure everyone got plenty of time with the whale sharks. We got to swim multiple times with two whale sharks, one which turned around and swam into our group multiple times. We saw sea turtles coral and lots of jellyfish, can’t recommend enough!
This is one we have checked off the bucket list!! Absolutley fabulous! Great day! Lucky we had, Perfect weather, saw & swam with Whale Sharks, Manta Rays, turtles, Dugons & wonders of the reef! Best day ever! Captain (lady)& staff, including underwater cameraman, could not say more! about the very exprienced, professional & very helpful, nothing was too much, to make sure everyone had a great day! Highly recomend the whole exprience!! ❤️ 🐋
From pick up to drop off the team At three islands took excellent care of us and provided an outstanding experience on the water with whale sharks, a humpback Duong’s and even a tiger shark. The operation was well organized, and safe throughout. They did an excellent job of keeping track of all guests in the water, but also reminding us to be mindful of the wildlife around us and treating the reef and its creatures with respect. Highly highly recommend
