Nice little walkable zoo. Unfortunately not many places to sit throughout, apart from the dining areas. Benches throughout would be an excellent addition. Due to heat and timing, I assume, many animals I went to see were not out or visible on several attempts. But I did enjoy my visit.

Loved our day at the zoo. It's been a few years since visiting and was delighted to see new exhibits, even more foliage, and some great spaces to sit and watch the animals and for the kids to run around. Our goal was to see the Pandas and our visit was so delightful. Tip - if you don't catch the pandas on display be sure to visit for the keeper talk and you'll get to see the pandas up close, eating their treats and digging into their bamboo. Was also so happy to see the overhead tunnels for certain animals to explore more of their habitat and watch the humans as much as we were watching them! It was a dull old day but the zoo was great. Plenty of seating, good food options (I had a delicious sandwich!) and a good coffee. Will return again soon. Ou downside is the $16 for the 4 hours of parking and how far you have to walk back to the car - and you don't seem to be able to extend. Hard if you want to spend the day there, as inspectors were active too.

Wow… where do we even begin? Adelaide Zoo completely exceeded every expectation we had and is, without a doubt, one of the best zoos we’ve ever visited.
From the moment we walked through the gates, it was obvious how much care and dedication goes into looking after both the animals and the beautiful grounds. The zoo is thoughtfully designed, making it easy to explore while feeling immersed in nature. Every enclosure is spacious, well maintained, and created with the animals’ wellbeing in mind. Seeing the animals looking so healthy, relaxed, and active made the experience even more enjoyable.
Of course, the giant pandas were the stars of the day! They are truly Adelaide Zoo’s showpiece, and seeing them up close was an unforgettable experience. They alone are worth the visit, but the zoo has so much more to offer. From the majestic big cats and playful primates to the colourful birds, reptiles, and Australian wildlife, every exhibit was engaging and beautifully presented.
What really impressed us was the passion behind the zoo. You can see the commitment to conservation, education, and animal welfare in every part of the park. It’s not just a place to see animals—it’s a place that inspires people to appreciate and protect wildlife.
Whether you’re visiting with children, as a couple, or simply love animals, Adelaide Zoo is an absolute must-visit. We left with smiles on our faces, amazing memories, and a genuine appreciation for the incredible work the team does every day.
Thank you for such a wonderful experience. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Adelaide!

Good Zoo to spend a couple of hours at. A good variety of animals to view in a lush setting. The Siamang and white cheeked gibbon put on a great performance moving amongst the trees and vocalising. We spent approximately 3hrs walking around, lots of seating and toilets.
Suggest the signage in the reptile house is upgraded as it was very hard to read.

It may not be the biggest zoo in the world but it’s the most fun I’ve had at one!
I highly recommend doing the free walking tour with the volunteers, Allan made my day he was so great! The guides are very knowledgeable, helpful and so friendly, I cannot recommend this enough for a few hours, especially as a solo traveller.
Thank you again Allan!
