Billy Tea Safaris is a truly local company, having been locally owned and operated since 1983 – the pioneers of the Daintree Rainforest tour!
Billy Tea Safaris is a leading eco-certified tour operator and provider of world-class, small group experiences with unique itineraries to the Daintree Rainforest & Cape Tribulation as well as the Outback and Chillagoe Caves to the west of Cairns.
Tours are also available on a private charter basis, allowing the day to be tailored to suit the guests' activity level, special interests and time frame.
Operating a modern fleet of 19-seat vehicles, Billy Tea Safaris cater for individuals, couples, and families, as well as small to medium groups with multiple vehicles and guides available daily.
Billy Tea Safaris prides itself on being an Advanced Eco Accredited and an Eco-Tourism Hall of Fame operator, a Green Travel Leader, and Roc Certified (Respecting our Culture) in the Wet Tropics World Heritage areas that they operate.
Guests sit back and relax in comfort in a custom-built 4WD air-conditioned vehicle while listening to informative and entertaining commentary by their local eco-accredited naturalist guide for the day. Their local knowledge of flora, fauna, and local history combined with their passion, enthusiasm, and professionalism, is what sets them apart from other tours, creating an unforgettable experience in Tropical North Queensland.

3 Day Reef, Rainforest and Outback Tour
Experience the very best of Cairns over 3 value packed days with trips to the Great Barrier Reef, Tropical Rainforest and the Australian Outback. Snorkel or Dive from Cairns ultimate outer reef day cruise vessel, Evolution, with optional upgrade to a spectacular reef-scenic helicopter flight! This is followed by a small-group guided tour on Billy Tea Safaris to the Daintree Rainforest and Cape then head west of Cairns for a day exploring the Australian Outback and remarkable Chillagoe Caves. The Daintree Forest Tour that I had with Rowen was amazing! I was positively surprised by the experience, especially the impressive talks ranging from history to ecology, which by the way, made the scenic drive even more entertaining. Everything went smoothly and I got to see and do everything that was promised, crocodiles on the Daintree river, incredible rainforest walks (lucky enough to see Cassowaries), nice and balanced lunch followed by a swim in the nearby creek, beautiful lookout points for pictures, nice walk on Cape Tribulation and a great ice cream finish (very cool fruity flavours that vary with season). Thank you Rowen, I will not forget about this day with you anytime soon!

I'm really pleased I decided to do the Daintree Rainforest & Cape Tribulation tour while I was up in Cairns, it's a fantastic day out. It was a smallish group (17) who headed north. Our first stop was a cruise on the Daintree and we saw 5 crocs along the way. The lunch spot was lovely and the food was pretty tasty and a good selection. Highlight for me was the wander through the rainforest and Mark our guide was very knowledgeable and pointed things out to us along the way. Then we head to Cape Tribulation and had a wee wander on the beach before stopping at a tropical fruit place where we got served up some delicious ice cream in flavours I'd never heard of!! Picked up and dropped off door to door, a great day!

Billy Tea Safaris was absolutely incredible! Very accommodating for a fussy eater, and made our family unit feel so comfortable. Our guide Graeme was hilarious and very patient with our little boy who had decided he was now his dedicated sidekick haha The tour was amazing, very educational and so much fun! Some breathtaking scenery to top it all off! Definitely recommend. If I could give more stars, I would!

Went on a Billy Tea Safaris tour yesterday; the 4WD Daintree Tour and River Cruise. We honestly had the best time! A huge thank you to John, our incredible tour guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and absolutely hilarious with his (intentionally terrible) jokes, which made the day even more memorable. We were on the Kookaburra, so naturally we became the Kookaburras for the day. Lots of laughs, plenty of learning, and an all-round fantastic experience. Highly recommend this tour if you want a fun, informative day with a guide who genuinely makes it special. 10/10 👌

Loved our day trip from Cairns to the Daintree and Cape Tribulation. Kel, our guide and driver was amazing 👏 🤩 her knowledge was fantastic and her friendly and approachable manner was perfect for a tour guide. Our highlight was seeing mumma and baby Crocs 🐊 on the river cruise and learning about the biodiversity of the rainforest and of course ice cream 🍦 😋 on the way back. Highly recommend this tour !
