A-MAZING!!!! Spectacular, Unreal, MUST SEE!!! One of the best tours I've ever done! Sooo educational and soooo hands on. Our tour guide was full of information and knew answers to every question. We went through 4 different real life Qantas planes throughout history. Areas never seen by public eyes where on display and the stories where immersive. Six million thombs up. ESSENTIAL in the area.
What a spectacular way to showcase QANTAS Founders Museum. We saw the light show under the big roof on our first night in Longreach and it was 10/10. Using the Boeing 747 as a screen was monumental. Such a great history in 25 minutes with sound affects! The next day Ryan, our museum presenter, walked us through a gritty but humorous presentation of the founding of QANTAS. Plenty of information and little fun facts but overall an excellent excursion. Well done and thank you to Ryan and the Museum for a wonderful night and days entertainment. Definitely worth the money.
Are must see experience. The birthplace of Qantas. Very informative. Divided tour was 1 1/2 hours long. Perhaps not good for young people because there is a lot of fidgeting in the group from the kids. Our guide Mark was very informative. Not for everyone because it meant standing around or sitting for long periods listening to all the stories. The theatre was out of action when I went today for renovations. The hall was full of amazing relics. There were many oral histories videos from residents recounting the history. Although the volume wasn't very loud and I couldn't hear much at times. The hangar was the most spectacular heart of the tour. With planes dating back to the 1930's. A model of the first Qantas plane was on display. The constellation dc3 was amazing call decked out. This was the plane that Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5 hired when the plane was in the States to do their tour. Felt very privileged being on it. The Boeing 747 "City of Bunbury", was amazing and brought back memories of my lights on the 747. Define deck was great to experience. Finding the black boxes which weren't actually black but orange was good to. They were areas that were cut out of the ceiling so you could see what was in the ceiling. The wing walk was fun and not something that you could do often so worth the extra money. The cafe had amazing selection of snacks and drinks, but were under staffed so long waits occurred. There is also a small art gallery to stroll through
Our guide Ryan was so animated and knowledgeable it made the tour 10/10. The tour is absolutely ideal for any age and the static displays are so well done. There's a great cafe that serves a good variety of food and coffee. Put this on your must do list and if you get Ryan as your guide, it will be an awesome experience.
I had a great time today at the Qantas Museum The young boy doing the tour guide was great and so passionate. I was impressed by his wealth of knowledge about the subject. He gave it all off memory. So smart and I hope he is paid well. He is great. I chose the 8.30 am start which gave me more time to go over reading and capturing pictures.
