Set on 300 acres of gently rolling sand dunes in the heart of the Mornington Peninsula “Cups” region, The Dunes captures the essence of true links golf. The Championship 18 hole course reflects the highest standards of course maintenance and customer service, matched only by the very best private clubs.
The success and popularity of The Dunes is a direct reflection of the course layout. Designed by Tony Cashmore, the tournament course is 6,459 metres and achieves the very difficult objective of being a challenge to the low marker without being a monster for the higher handicapped golfer.
The Cups Course is a links layout set in rolling dunes and clearly rates amongst the best standalone 9 hole courses in Australia with several magnificent par 3’s and par 4’s. As the little sister to the main course they absolutely love it! Its got the same links feel but is a lot more forgiving. The Cups features top quality course design and presentation but the rough is cut down, the bunkers more shallow and the holes shorter.
A super fun golf course that is perfect for families and friends! To see hole by hole videos of ‘The Cups’ course, scroll down the page.

The Dunes is one of the most well conditoned course in Mornington. From the greens to the tee boxes, everything is currently immaculate. The rough is cut lower than im used to making it more forgiving as well for errant tee shots.
The course has wide undulating fairways that reward most golfers. The bunkers are place in high risk high reward landing locations. The course plays alot easier in low wind conditions.

Lovely experience staying here with my partner. The room was great, very comfortable and an amazing view. The staff were very friendly, they acknowledged we are not golf players however suggested some options for us if we did want to have a go. Located right in the peninsula within close proximity to both hot springs, which was perfect for us!

Played a round here for the first time & after high anticipation I must say it didn’t disappoint in any way. I’d say it jumps to my favourite public course I’ve played. Stunning piece of land & the topography changes really set this apart. All tee times were booked but honestly it didn’t feel busy due to fairway separation, the hidden tee boxes & large sand dunes between fairways. Course was in brilliant condition & the only downside for me was the greens which were super fast & far quicker than what I’m used to (brilliant condition & size).
Overall a great layout, amazing greens, hard & fast undulating fairways, great clubhouse & amazing value for money. A must play course if you get the chance.
