Stopped by the Canberra and Region Visitors Centre and was really impressed by how helpful and friendly the staff were. They provided detailed information about local attractions, walking trails, and events around the city, and even gave great personal recommendations based on what I was interested in. The centre itself is modern, clean, and easy to navigate, with maps, brochures, and displays that make exploring Canberra simple and enjoyable. There’s also a small shop with local products and souvenirs that highlight the region’s charm. It’s the perfect first stop for anyone visiting Canberra — whether you’re planning a short trip or an extended stay. The team here makes you feel genuinely welcome and helps you make the most of your time in Australia’s capital. Highly recommended.
On our first day of touring, we always visit the Canberra and Region Visitors Centre. We have been to this terrific centre a few times over the years and it always delivers! There is plenty of parking within a relatively short walk from this centre. The friendly staff are more than happy to provide any information that you might be looking for. It is also a fantastic place to understand the history of Canberra. The photos provided in this review will give you an idea about what I am talking about. The Canberra exhibition is first class. There are also amazing views across Lake Burley Griffin from this important information stop. There are loads of brochures about attractions, food and accommodation in Canberra and the surrounding region. It is also a handy place to buy postcards, magnets, political themed souvenirs and selected local produce. In short, this place has everything. You could easily spend a couple of hours here! We always enjoy stopping here and staying up-to-date with the latest information. Here are some photos and videos from recent visits.
This is such an amazing venue. It is located on Lake burley griffin! They have a lot of local items for sale. Everything from oils, honey, teas, wines, native spices, postcards, and many souvenirs. The staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. It is a very nice place to visit (with a car park) if you are going for a walk around the lake. Be sure to stick your head in! 😉 Thank you for the lovely staff who assisted, provided their knowledge, and made our visit memorable.
Canberra visitor centre was a superb place. The guy was so friendly and helpful and introduces us about seniors card for train and buses and explaining how to use it. We really enjoyed our stay in Canberra especially the War Memorial was a wonderful place to visit. Highly recommended ❤
It's definitely worth a visit, especially if you are passing through the area and had a few days to spare. The staff member that assisted us was very knowledgeable and friendly. She provided us with lots of useful information for the area and what we could do in the area travelling with a fur baby. The centre has some lovely gifts also.
